"I was drawn to LEO because I am deeply passionate about alleviating poverty for individuals and families. LEO's commitment to not only conduct rigorous research, but to also use evidence to scale and push forward meaningful policy change aligns with my own goal of bridging research and practice. I especially admire LEO's dedication to its partners and the communities they serve, ensuring that research is conducted with dignity and that evidence produced benefits those most impacted by poverty."

Bio

As the State Policy Associate, Annelise engages with policymakers and partners across states to track policy developments, translate research, and ensure that rigorous evidence shapes policies that have a lasting impact on people's lives. She previously worked at the Urban Institute, where she used quantitative and qualitative methods to evaluate the impact and implementation of child welfare programs across the country. Annelise received her Master of Public Policy from the University of Michigan and her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Seattle University.
