“I want you to think about the COVID pandemic. I know, relatively unpleasant, but we didn’t stem that crisis just by treating individuals who had already gotten sick. There was a global response to that crisis that, yes, involved treatment, but also involved addressing the root cause, educating people about prevention, and distributing huge financial stimulus packages to help dampen the economic impact,” said the director of Catholic Charities of West Virginia, Mark Phillips.
