The Art of Partnership

Author: Kathryn Desai

The world of art and the world of research might seem unlikely to coincide, but not at LEO. In fact, we are delighted to share two original works of art by our talented intern, Marge Kelsey.

Partner: Corner to Corner

From the artist:

Passionate, charismatic, and full of life.

That’s how I’d describe LEO partner, Corner to Corner. The emphasis they place on community and connection gave me the idea to zoom in on a “corner store conversation.”

The goal of the design is to capture the spirit of collaboration, entrepreneurship, and creating leaders through education and community support.

Partner: Catholic Charities West Virginia
Mountain Mailbox

From the artist:

The inspiration for this piece came from a poignant anecdote from Catholic Charities West Virginia about older individuals getting behind on bills because they can’t make the long walk to the mailbox. It reminds me of LEO’s belief that the people being served and the people providing the service know their communities best.

I wanted this piece to encapsulate the way Catholic Charities West Virginia approaches their work—emphasizing the beauty of the West Virginia rural community and coming up with solutions that preserve its essence and allow it to thrive.
