Transportation accounts for the second greatest expenditure for low-income households. In the absence of reliable and affordable transportation, individuals may have difficulties commuting to work, school, community centers, and social service agencies. King County Metro Transit in King County, WA is seeking to overcome this pervasive problem by providing subsidized metro passes to low-income individuals. LEO and King County Metro Transit are exploring multiple research designs to evaluate the impact of subsidized transportation options on employment and other outcomes.
