Wendy Barreno is an Associate Director at the Wilson Sheehan Lab for Economic Opportunities (LEO) at the University of Notre Dame. In this role, she works with nonprofit organizations, governments, and researchers across the country to integrate reliable evidence building into program set up and operations, support continuous learning and improvement, and identify and advance innovative and effective policies and programs that reduce poverty and improve lives. Key areas of interest include housing, criminal justice, education, health, employment, earnings, and child welfare. Wendy brings cross-sector experience to LEO through senior roles in government, social services, and philanthropy. Most recently, Wendy served as Senior Fellow and Director of Public Accountability with the Arnold Foundation, where she developed a new national portfolio in evidence-based policy-making. Wendy has a Bachelor's degree from Harvard University and a Master in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School, where she was the Scott & Isabelle Black Fellow and awarded the Carr Center for Human Rights Policy Paper Prize.
