"If you look at poverty rates since June, we've seen an increase of 2.4 percentage points. That's nearly 8 million new individuals added to the ranks of the poor. if you compare that to a more historical perspective, that rise is larger than any one-year increase we've seen since we started calculating poverty rates in the United States going back to the 1960's."
