Each year, the LEO staff nearly doubles with the arrival of our summer interns. Chosen from a pool of highly qualified undergraduates at Notre Dame, our interns prove to us how capable they are of jumping into a fast-paced work environment and advancing our projects more quickly than ever. This summer has been no different with nine interns joining the ranks to help advance projects in a variety of different issue areas such as medical respite care, college persistence and completion, and housing and homelessness. They have had the opportunity to take ownership of projects and gain valuable experience cleaning and analyzing data. LEO interns often become invested in the projects that they work on over the summer and will continue to work throughout the school year to help see their projects through to completion.

Teamwork is a big part of the Research Assistant experience. Interns work together to find solutions to programming issues and benefit from a collaborative environment. Most interns work on campus at Notre Dame, but we also work to place some onsite at our partner agencies. This year, one of our undergraduates had the opportunity to work at Catholic Charities Fort Worth in Fort Worth, Texas. They are an invaluable addition to our team, and we've been so happy to have them here this summer! Visit our page to learn more about each of our Undergraduate Research Assistants.
