Wendy P. Barreno is an Associate Director at the Wilson Sheehan Lab for Economic Opportunities (LEO) at the University of Notre Dame. In this role, she works with nonprofit organizations, governments, and researchers across the country to identify high-impact and cost-effective policies and programs, support continuous learning and improvement, and reduce poverty and improve lives. Key areas of interest include housing, criminal justice, education, health, employment, earnings, and child welfare. Wendy brings cross-sector experience to LEO through roles in government, social services, and philanthropy with organizations such as the L.A. Unified Board of Education, United Way, and Arnold Foundation. Wendy has a Bachelor's degree from Harvard University and a Master in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School, where she was the Scott & Isabelle Black Fellow and awarded the Carr Center for Human Rights Policy Paper Prize.
